> Basic
Learning Style's
We are all governed by a dominant learning style.
When new material is presented in the dominant style
of a learner the integration of this material into
his/her long-term working memory becomes almost automatic.
Contrastingly when an individual is taught new material
in a manner that is alien to the learner the material
is extremely difficult to memorise or understand.
This fact is one of the main reasons why children
do not always understand what their teachers are
trying to explain. The teacher will also have a dominant
style and will often explain material in this manner.
If it is not compatible with the learner, the child
struggles to understand the material.
By having this basic knowledge of how our learners
assimilate information, we can present abstract and
difficult concepts in a manner that is easier for
them to understand and learn.
